1. How long have you been with your S.O.?
7 years
2. What’s your favorite date that you’ve been on?
One of my favorite dates is our first, back when we were in college. I basically invited myself to see the movie District 9 with him after his friend flaked (very romantic) and then went to a Spanish tapas restaurant close by after to have dinner—we ended up staying there until closing.
3. Go-to date outfit?
I definitely reach for a dress and heels first. If it’s too cold, skinny jeans and over-the-knee boots are my go-to. I’m all for the subtly sexy look, nothing too overt!
4. Have a getting ready (beauty or not) routine?
If I’m heading out straight from the office, a quick pit stop to the bathroom to add a bold lip is all I have time to do. Otherwise, I take my time getting ready at home with a quick facial to prep my skin and then putting on my full face; I’m also shameless about blasting pop songs while getting ready.
5. Anything special (& appropriate) that you do to keep the “spark burning”?
I’m all for random acts of love: whether it be getting little random gifts or cooking a meal for the other person. It’s all about showing your significant other that you don’t take them for granted, regardless of how long you’ve been together.

1. Do you remember your first date with your now-spouse? If so, what was it?
The hubs and I met at work—virtually (he was based in Toronto). When he was transferred to San Francisco, I was there the night he stepped off the plane and we met for the first time in person. It’s hard to pinpoint a first “official date,” but we first confessed we liked each other over margaritas at a ’60s soul dance party in the Mission.
2. Go-to date outfit?
Occasionally I’ll reach for my trusty LBD, but I’m mostly a jeans gal. When it’s time to get dressy, I class it up with a dark-wash pair. A head-to-toe black outfit is usually a good bet for a night out, with a statement necklace for a little added flair.
3. Have a getting ready (beauty or not) routine?
I’m not ready until my winged eyeliner is applied, my hair is curled and I’ve danced to at least one ABBA song.
4. Who takes longer to get ready? You or your S.O.?
Definitely me! But it gives him time to mix me a craft cocktail before we head out.
5. Anything special (& appropriate) that you do to keep the “spark burning”?
We do something we like to call “impromptu date night,” where one of us plans a last-minute date on a night we’d normally be at home. If we can surprise the other person with a fun activity other than dinner or drinks, even better!

1. How long have you been with your S.O.?
Almost four years now, I think.
2. What’s your favorite date ever?
A two-month date around Europe.
3. Go-to date outfit?
Black pants, a white collared shirt and black Oxfords.
4. Have a getting ready (beauty or not) routine?
Shower and I might trim up the facial hair. I won’t use shampoo or conditioner before unless my hair is pretty dirty, I like a little bit of grease. Put on some aromatic lotion, Aesop is the go-to. Then a hint of cologne.
5. Anything special that you do to keep the “spark burning”?
Well, we’ve been making the long distance thing work for two years now. It’s not ideal, but every time I get to see her, it feels like a vacation.

1. How long have you been with your S.O.?
Seven years (four of them long distance!).
2. What’s your favorite date ever?
Two years ago, right after we moved into our first apartment together. We decided to make pizza for dinner despite not having a kitchen table or that many kitchen appliances. We threw on some Sam Cooke and Otis Redding and ate in the living room on an air mattress. Nothing fancy and I was probably wearing sweats, but it was perfect.
3. Have a getting ready (beauty or not) routine?
I’m pretty low maintenance when it comes to a beauty routine. Tinted moisturizer, blush, mascara and dry shampoo are my go-to’s but I’ll throw on a bold lip from time to time to spice things up.
4. Favorite go-to date spot? How many times have you two been there by now?
We have a favorite street in Bernal Heights, San Francisco that’s become our go-to spot. We stop into a few of our favorite specialty shops and hit up the local brewery before grabbing dinner at our favorite Italian spot or picnicking on Bernal Hill. We’re all about those all-day dates.
5. Anything special (& appropriate) that you do to keep the “spark burning”?
Try new things that your S.O. enjoys (even if you don’t!). I’ve found that we both end up really enjoying getting out of our comfort zones and doing something together that we wouldn’t have done ourselves. He’s still on the fence about salsa lessons but we’re making progress.

1. Fail-safe first date spot?
I like to get some fun, competitive vibes going on my first dates. Any place with a dart board or a ping pong table means it’s game on!
2. Go-to first date outfit?
I always reach for skinny jeans, a silky top, ankle booties and a leather jacket. It’s comfy and cute.
3. Have a getting ready (beauty or not) routine?
Sea salt spray and favorite lipstick! I make sure to keep both at my work desk for emergencies.
4. What do you always make sure you do for a date?
Check out the menu online! What can I say? I’m kind of a foodie…
5. How do you combat the first date jitters?
Grab a glass of wine…

5. What’s your favorite go-to date spot?
We love this small, family-owned restaurant in our neighborhood. The atmosphere is romantic, the food is awesome and the staff knows us as regulars.
Of course, we couldn’t leave out our real-life married couple: James and Chelsea. We did our own take on the Newlywed Game, but spoiler alert, they know each other pretty well.
