I like to wear shorts or skirts during summer but my leg veins are getting more visible as I get older. It's embarrassing sometimes as it looks like I have bruises on my legs. Any advice?Vangie
Each and every one of us has flaws that we would like to hide and with temperatures rising, summer can be the hardest time to stay covered. For concealing spider veins, you have a couple different options.
Here are our two foolproof tips for concealing spider veins:
Embrace longer style with maxi skirts and bermuda shorts: Longer skirts and shorts will provide you with more coverage while still keeping you cool during a heatwave. A lightweight maxi skirt is the equivalent of leggings in the winter—comfortable, versatile and great for leg coverage. They can easily be dressed up with a luxe sleeveless blouse or worn casually with a simple tee knotted at the side for a fitted style. Bermuda shorts, like maxi skirts, offer extra coverage. A classic denim pair can be worn with any top you would normally wear with long jeans.
When in doubt, reach for the concealer: Did you know that there is a concealer specifically made for hiding veins, tattoos, and any other skin flaw or discoloration you can think of? Head to your local beauty supply store and look for the specially-formulated concealer for legs. Another tip: Spray tans can also disguise our less-than-favorable spots and lines.
