How would you describe your body shape?
I’m 5’6” and apple is probably the closest description to my body type. I have struggled over the years to find blouses that fit my broad shoulder type.
How would you describe your personal style?
I would describe my style as feminine with an edge. I’m a girly-girl who’s obsessed with anything pink, but I also like to add edgy accents to complete the look. I look to other bloggers like Annabelle Fleur of Vivaluxury and Blair Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific for constant outfit inspiration since they are icons of feminine-chic style.
As fashion trends come and go, I always encourage myself to step out of my comfort zone and try something different like how to take a trend and make it my own. For example, a bomber jacket might be a cool girl’s thing, but if I pick up a pink bomber and wear it with a flared skirt, that’s ultra chic and totally me! There’s always a way to remain on trend while adding the perfect feminine flair to your style. Just be creative and be yourself!
Has your body shape informed the way that you dress?
For sure! Because of my apple-shaped body, I prefer wearing fitted tops to visually correct the broadness of my upper body. I am also a legs-for-days girl. That’s a huge advantage of living in Los Angeles with beautiful weather year-round where I can wear dresses at any time of the year.
What is your go-to figure-flattering piece and why?
One thing I can never get tired of is a classic little black dress! It’s easy to dress up or down, and you can never go wrong on how you style it. For a more edgy look, you can pair it with a leather jacket and black booties. For a date night look, a pair of red pumps is all you need to turn heads.
What outfit makes you feel amazing?
When the weather starts to warm up again and the sun stays out past 5 p.m., it means spring is finally here! Here are a few of my favorite spring staples:
- Block heels: They are definitely making a comeback. It’s comfortable enough to replace your sandals, but also chic enough to wear for girl’s night out.
- Oversized denim jacket: A year-round classic closet staple. A light indigo-washed or white distressed jacket is perfect to have on hand for warmer weather during spring and summer.
- Wrap skirt: A wrap skirt is a fun new twist for the season. I’m adding one with a suede fabrication and tie closures to my closet, and some in my favorite shades of pastel.
Any styling tips and tricks you can share?
Every girl should have a bomber jacket in their closet. I think the bomber trend has been around for years now, and it’s not going away anytime soon. It’s the perfect piece for transitional dressing, from casual-cool to street chic!
