KATE
StyleFile style personality: Modern Muse
Fun fact: She loves household DIY-ing
How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style blends structured lines and classic silhouettes with unexpected pops of sparkle, bright colors or patterns. I’m adventurous and not afraid to try a trend that catches my eye. Then, no matter the vibe of my look, I always finish with a statement earring. I believe sparkle belongs in year-round rotation because the joy of that shine should never wait for an occasion.
What’s your favorite part of being a Stylist?
My favorite part of being a Stylist is partnering with my clients to boost their confidence through fashion. A great blazer, a fun hat or my go-to statement earrings always give me a spark, so helping clients uncover their own fashion confidence boosters feels incredibly rewarding. It’s an honor to get to play a part in discovering what makes each person feel empowered and at their best.
How did you get into fashion?
I’ve always loved expressing myself through style, embracing pieces that bring me joy—even when they aren’t the current trend, but feel true to who I am. It’s a lifelong journey without a clear starting point, constantly evolving with new styles, fresh finds and, of course, a touch of sparkle.
What’s your personal style mantra?
Add sparkle and bold shine every day, because there’s no room for dull moments. Let your authentic self radiate through your style, bringing the energy you want to share with the world. Brighten each moment with a little extra glow.
Which upcoming or current trend are you most excited for?
I love layering season! From a textured blazer to a sleek trench or a floor-length coat, I look forward to the weather cooling down and making room for the perfect layer to complete my look.
What’s a style you can’t live without?
I can’t live without a statement earring. Whether I’m in athleisure or heading out for the night, it’s a non-negotiable. Sparkle, shine, an unexpected pop of color or a bold silhouette—each one has its moment in my rotation. But no matter the outfit, you’ll always catch me with an earring to finish the look.

Embrace classic sweater styles and have fun with your outer layers. I love a timeless black sweater that feels cozy and high quality, but I like to add a twist with a sleek, unexpected wool coat, a structured winter-ready hat and, of course, a great pair of earrings to tie it all together. Mixing classic pieces with adventurous layers is the perfect way to step out of the box during the cooler months.
What’s the most common style question you get from your clients? And how do you answer?
One of the most common questions I get from clients is how to incorporate their style aspirations into their wardrobe. There’s no one right way to do it, but with Stitch Fix, you’ve got a partner to help you figure it out: me and my fellow Stylists! My job is to take the style you aspire to and help you make it your own, in a way that feels true to you and boosts your confidence.
What tips do you have for getting the best Fix?
To get your best Fix, focus on two key steps: sharing feedback and saving inspiration in your Freestyle. Start by telling your Stylist what’s working, what isn’t and where you want to push your style boundaries—this helps your Stylist pinpoint your style. Then, save pieces in your Freestyle to give them a better sense of what’s catching your eye and the overall vibe you’re aiming for. Bonus: One of my new favorite features is clients can now start their Fix by picking one piece they love, and then their Stylist will style the rest!

MATHEW
StyleFile style personality: Modern Prep
Fun fact: He’s currently studying Japanese and Korean
How would you describe your personal style?
Comfortable, vintage, dreamy and neat.
What’s your favorite part of being a Stylist?
Helping other people find the tools to express themselves through fashion.
How did you get into fashion?
I had two pivotal influences growing up. My mother has been a proud fashion hobbyist since she was young, so that rubbed off on me. And I became more intentional with my wardrobe during my early teens after being inspired by Korean popular culture and the Hallyu Wave.
What’s your personal style mantra?
Fashion belongs to you first before the world.
Which upcoming or current trend are you most excited for?
Androgynous fashion and blurring the lines between men’s and women’s wear. I hope it will become a continuous movement rather than a brief trend.
What’s a style you can’t live without?
Matching 2-piece sets!

Be creative with layering! Style T-shirts over long-sleeve sweaters, or button-ups under coats or even button-ups under vests and graphic tees. Get creative with contrasting colors and textures. Or one of my faves is a monochrome look! There are so many fun ways to wear your favorite items all at once and stay warm throughout the season.
What’s the most common style question you get from your clients? And how do you answer?
My clients often ask for tips on how to build a capsule wardrobe. I love to start with the basics, such as their favorite silhouettes, fits and colors for clothing. Lifestyle needs are often a big factor, too, but starting with how my clients want to look and feel is a great starting point to building a capsule wardrobe. Achieving this won’t be quick, but the results will be worth it over time.
What tips do you have for getting the best Fix?
Take inventory of your closet and style needs before requesting a Fix. Similar to taking inventory of your refrigerator or pantry before grocery shopping, so you don’t end up with food you won’t eat or already have at home. This way, clients can confidently come to their Stylist with requests that will accurately fulfill their fashion goals with each Fix.

How did you get into fashion?
I’ve always loved to create and sew so it felt like the natural thing to do to major in fashion in college…So you could say, fashion is just in my blood!
What’s your personal style mantra?
As a new mom, it’s definitely comfort first, but keep it interesting and fun with colors and prints.
Which upcoming or current trend are you most excited for?
I’m excited to see bold, rich colors for fall and winter. I also love that statement accessories are slowly coming back—I’ve always been a sucker for bold jewelry and fun hair accessories!
What’s a style you can’t live without?
A comfortable and flattering denim jacket—or having a few in your closet to suit different looks (For example, a relaxed boyfriend fit to layer over a sweatshirt and leggings, or a more fitted, cropped jacket to create shape over a dress). I firmly believe it can complete just about any look!
Give us your best styling advice for wintertime
Winter fashion can be so fun, there are so many opportunities to layer and embrace fun textures and unexpected colors. Lean into your basic pieces and then complete your looks with bold coats, hats, and sweaters.
What’s the most common style question you get from your clients? And how do you answer?
I commonly get asked what to pair with certain items they receive in their Fix. I think that the biggest request is just knowing how to wear the items they get sent. I try to think of a couple of different options for them, something that’s a little unique but still utilizes items they’ve already received, something that’s easy and comfortable, and then send them something in an upcoming Fix that pairs really well with that piece. I think showing them how versatile our pieces can be really helps them see the value in receiving Fixes.
What tips do you have for getting the best Fix?
Be open minded and leave requests and feedback.

My style is free and ever-changing. I love sneakers, Vans and experimenting with trends—I’m not afraid to try something new or embrace a style for a moment without committing forever. My wardrobe reflects my mood and personality.
What’s your favorite part of being a Stylist?
I love that I get to help clients express themselves without ever having to stick to one look forever. Fashion is a way to explore personality and mood, and I get to witness the joy clients feel when they find pieces that truly resonate with them.
How did you get into fashion?
Fashion has always been a part of my life. As a graphic designer, I’ve always been drawn to beautiful garments and prints. Years ago, I launched my own swimwear company in Chile, designing the prints and collections myself—that’s what really immersed me in fashion.
What’s your personal style mantra?
Fashion is freedom: play, experiment and let your wardrobe reflect your personality.
Which upcoming/current trend are you most excited for?

Layer thoughtfully and play with scarves. A silk scarf can elevate a casual outfit for dinner or happy hour, while a wool scarf can dress down a satin skirt for a relaxed yet chic look. Accessories can transform your entire winter wardrobe.
What’s the most common style question you get from your clients? And how do you answer?
Many clients ask how to make versatile pieces work in multiple outfits. My advice: focus on key layers and accessories that can completely transform a look, such as scarves, jackets and statement shoes.
What tips do you have for getting the best Fix?
Be as vocal as possible. Share what you love—and what you don’t. Even subtle details like color preference or fabric texture help me create a Fix that truly suits you. Sometimes a style you don’t love in one color, can be perfect in another.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
I started sewing my own clothes two years ago while working at Stitch Fix, which allows me to combine handmade pieces with my Fix purchases for a unique, personalized wardrobe.
