Where do you live? Where did you grow up?
I live in New York and growing up moving around from Taiwan to Vancouver and then the US.
How does a typical day start for you?
I’m glued to my phone and start my day in my bed checking emails.
What three words describe you best?
Organized, Sincere, Silly
What has been the highlight of your career?
Definitely when Michelle Obama wore my dresses to both Presidential inaugurations.
What’s the difference between GREY and Jason Wu?
Jason Wu is dressed up and GREY is off-duty and relaxed.
Where do you find your inspiration?
I find travel to be very inspiring and I also love to collaborate with different people. My collaborations have become engines for new ideas and all my projects work off of each other.
What’s one thing that would surprise us about you?
I secretly want to be a chef…but not that secret because I tell people.
Do you have a favorite piece from your Stitch Fix <> GREY Jason Wu collaboration?
I like them all but the polka-dot dress is my favorite because it’s feminine, fun and sophisticated.
How do you get unstuck creatively?
I like to take random TV breaks—my favorite show is South Park!
What’s your most ambitious or outlandish goal you have for the future of your brand?
I’d love it if a majority of people owned something designed by me.
What keeps you organized as a designer?
I never leave home without my Moleskin sketchbook and my iPhone that has my iCal on it!
What’s your Achilles heel?
Anything cat-related. I’ve become a total cat-lady and half of my Instagram is filled with cat videos and images.
