Dressing With Confidence Throughout Your GLP-1 Weight Loss Journey

What do you wish you knew when you first embarked on your GLP-1 journey? You probably discussed logistics like dosage and side effects with your doctor, but you might not have considered the challenges of clothes shopping with a changing body.

Personal style is kind of our thing at Stitch Fix, so we want you to feel confident and comfortable throughout your entire weight loss journey—not just when you hit your goals. Your taste in clothes is personal, much like your reasons for starting a GLP-1. And as your body shape and size evolves, it might leave you feeling lost in your closet. We have both the human insights of our expert Stylists and innovative tech features to support you, whether it’s day one or month six on a GLP-1.

The Power of “Right Now”

It’s tempting to wait to invest in a new wardrobe: for a goal weight, a milestone or a “final” size. We’re here to show that great style doesn’t have to be postponed. As you continue making changes, your style can—and should—evolve so that you always feel as confident as you possibly can.

It’s worth reminding yourself: I am worthy of great style at every stage of my journey.  Your goals may be a work in progress, but that doesn’t mean you have to wear things that don’t suit you!

Stitch Fix Stylists are here for you with expert guidance throughout your GLP-1 journey. At any time, you can chat one-on-one using Stylist Connect in the Stitch Fix app. Use it to ask questions—anything from “What styles of tops would look good on me now?” to “What can I wear this piece with?” Having trouble seeing yourself in something new? Our AI styling experience, Vision, can help. It uses photos of you to generate fresh outfit inspiration, so you can see how they’d actually look on your body. “You can update your Vision photos anytime,” Stylist Erin advises. “This keeps your styling aligned with your progress and helps you make confident, well-timed wardrobe decisions.” It might even inspire you to try styles that you previously felt weren’t for you!

The Bridge Wardrobe

Throughout your GLP-1 journey, your body is bound to fluctuate. Having pieces that flex with you but still feel put-together will keep you feeling confident and prevent constantly sizing down.

Look for features and silhouettes that are more forgiving. “Adjustable waistbands offer flexibility and comfort during a weight-loss transition,” Stylist Jackie suggests. “You can look polished in a great pair of track pants regardless of your size.” She also recommends wrap dresses and tops that you can cinch as needed, along with high-quality knits that will continue to drape beautifully on the body as you size down.Even once your old wardrobe no longer works, you don’t have to donate everything. Stitch Fix has partnered with ThredUp, the leader in online consignment and thrifting, to help you make room in your closet and earn credit towards new clothes. With this approach you can get Stylist-approved Fixes that fit, earn money towards confidence-boosting pieces and know that someone else will love them when you’re done. Rediscovering Your Line

Weight loss isn’t just about the numbers on the scale or measuring tape. As you progress, you might find that your proportions have changed  and your go-to silhouettes aren’t fitting the same way.

Learning how to dress a new shape can be intimidating, so our guide to dressing for your body type is a great resource. Think of these tips as informative suggestions, not hard-and-fast rules—wearing what feels good is most important

Understanding your new body type can really open up your style world. Maybe you’ve been hesitant to try tailored trousers, body-hugging silhouettes or a waist-defining belt, but your changing size and shape give you newfound confidence (We’re so here for it!). Your Vision images can even serve as a moodboard to inspire you or your Stylist along the way.

Stylist Jackie also emphasizes experimenting with new styling techniques. “Simple shifts like tucking in your tops can highlight your shape, define your waist and help you see your progress in a brand new way,” she says.

Don’t be afraid to make more permanent adjustments to your clothes too. When possible, taking your favorite pieces to the tailor and having them fitted to your new measurements can help breathe new life into your existing wardrobe.
