When nuptials move outdoors (especially in the spring and summer), expect cold drinks and a little perspiration, but a whole lot of love too!
Keep reading for our Stylist-approved tips on dressing for an outdoor wedding.
Dress the Part
Find your perfect dress for any occasion in a snap by determining what body attributes you want to highlight. Seek out shorter hemlines to draw attention to long legs or complement a long torso with a clever, drop waist dress. When in doubt, you can always call upon the looks-good-on-everyone wrap dress.
Be Cool and Comfortable
Looser, flowing silhouettes will keep you cool—and give you plenty of room for that second piece of wedding cake! Think shift dresses, popover style dresses and A-line silhouettes. Go for breathable fabrics too! Skip the silk and polyester (hello, sticky dress!) and try to find a lightweight cotton or rayon dress.
Finish with Accessories
Now’s the time to play up your outfit’s supporting elements! Try a coordinating clutch to stow your necessities and complement your dress’ color or pattern, or experiment with layered necklaces for extra polish.
Don’t Get Stuck in the Grass
Don’t get stuck in the grass! Skip the stilettos, outdoor weddings usually call for more casual attire (but double check the invitation!). Flats and sandals have the green light here but if you’re dying to pull out some heels, go for all-terrain friendly wedges.
With a little dress know-how and license to choose something comfortable, you’ll be cool, confident and stylish at any outdoor wedding you attend!
